Leading, Managing, and Doing Your Job - what's the difference?

Thursday, January 18, 2024 -
6:00pm to 7:30pm

As part of Your Year Of Career, I'd like us to have a talk about the difference between "doing your job" (aka being an Individual Contributor), managing, and leading.

These are different, but they're not in any way exclusive of each other!

No matter your profession - analyis, agility, project or product management - you will wrestle with these topics. They matter to your career and how you're seen as a professional.

In this session I'll set us up for a conversation about this.

  • What's the difference between them?
  • How do I show leadership?
  • When do I use management skills?
  • What do I do if I don't want to manage, but I want to advance in my career?

...and as always, we will have a lot of time for questions from those who attend!
