The Agile Business Analyst at the workshop!

Taught by Ryland Leyton, expert business analyst, instructor, agile coach, and author of “The Agile Business Analyst: Moving from Waterfall to Agile”, this 6-hour class will give you skills you can apply the next day at your job!

Check out this video introduction!

Offered in partnership with the Birmingham IIBA at a special rate of just $80, this is a session you won’t want to miss!

 WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
The way businesses create software changes rapidly, almost daily, in these times!  As Business Analysts we have to adapt to this and deliver valuable requirements in shorter times, with more flexibility, and always with a focus on value for the customer!  Collaboration + speed move to the front of the BA skill set.

Agile requirements practices help you achieve these goals!

In this session we take a deep-dive on techniques that make this possible.  You will learn the “new standards” of requirements including writing business-value-focused epics and stories and how to perform collaborative story decomposition.  We will also take a look at when & how “legacy” techniques fit just fine into our new world.

This workshop is hands-on, and focuses on using individual and group exercises to let you really use the new techniques and take them home with you, ready to go!

You will leave class able to immediately apply the following techniques:

  • User Stories - Well crafted, small, vertical slices of value
  • Acceptance Criteria - Clear, concise, precise, and in the “GWT” format
  • Story Mapping - An agile and collaborative approach to scope and planning
  • Story Decomposition - An essential skill to deliver value rapidly
